The Netflix series Drive to Survive 2020 also with Mercedes and Ferrari

F1 will return in 2020 with its own documentary series on the Netfilx streaming channel. For the second season of the series, called Drive to Survive, the camera crews will follow all F1 teams for the first time. Mercedes and Ferrari, which canceled their participation in the first season, will be there this time. The first season of Drive to Survive gave F1 fans an unusual and detailed look behind the scenes. Among other things, they discussed in detail Ricciard 's transfer from Red Bullof the Renault camp.

Red Bull was the only top F1 team to open its doors to Netflix cameramen. Ferrari and Mercedes, however, did not want the cameramen to look under their fingers. Toto Wolff justified this step at the time by saying that it would divert too much attention from teamwork. Because of this, the first season more or less lived off midfield teams. The head of the Haas team, Günther Steiner, became the unexpected star of the series.

After the first season celebrated great success, they also changed their minds at Mercedes and Ferrari. If both bosses, Toto Wolff and Mattia Binotto, were initially a bit reluctant, they have now finally agreed to cooperate. But as far as can be heard, Mercedes is supposed to allow cooperation only to a limited extent.
