Sometimes we really have to wonder if for Lewis Hamilton, the day is long enough to be able to do all that he does. Lewis has long been more than just a racer, he is also very active outside the racetracks. His next stop is Hollywood. There, Hamilton took on the role of producer for the documentary “The Game Changers”.
And what is the documentary about? About fitness. Or as Lewis himself puts it: “Performance is everything. It starts with proper nutrition for your body. ” To adequately illustrate this topic, top athletes from various sports were invited to participate. Also present are tennis ace Novak Djokovic, NBA star Chris Paul and bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger. Hamilton talks about a revolutionary documentary staged by Oscar-winning Louie Psihoyos. The Game Changers will see movie screens in September this year.
But how did Hamilton join this project? Lewis explains this with his Los Angeles residence. “I spend a lot of time there. And there are many possibilities. I did a lot of conversations, especially in the area of film and entertainment. Television and movies are something that particularly interests me. ”
James Cameron, another Oscar winner and author of Terminator, Titanic and Avatar, brought the idea to include Hamilton in his new documentary. “He wanted to contact me. I am a big supporter of him and understandably, I did not want to miss this opportunity. I wanted to be a part of it. ”
Hamilton describes the project of this documentary as very cool: “Here, for example, is Arnold Schwarzenegger. I was lucky to meet him at some races. He is also part of this project. ” The popular Arnie is also seen in a short film insert posted by Hamilton on social media.
Hamilton has always been a big fan of Schwarzenegger. “My former coach was a big supporter of him. He always watched documentaries about Arnold and his training. ” Thus Hamilton also came into contact with Schwarzenegger's philosophy. "And I've developed an interest in other people's perspectives, and in part I've taken very similar directions." As he allowed himself to be inspired by the giants of this industry in his fitness training, he achieved a whole new personal fitness. And according to Hamilton, that reflects great athletes.
He also has to be in good physical condition to succeed in F1, fashion, music and now in film. “From a time point of view, it’s definitely not that easy. Because I follow some other projects in this field. ” He did not want to reveal exactly what it was about. Just that much: “It’s a long-term process. Something is definitely coming. ”
One thing is for sure: After Mercedes agreed to participate in the second season of the Drive to Survive series on the Netfix streaming channel, Hamilton will probably appear in it on an enhanced scale, although he admits that he did not watch the first season. However, he thinks this project is good and adds with a smile, "I hope they only record good things about me and cut out the bad ones."
