Despite the fact that before the start of the season they were considered the favorites among midfield teams, the team Haas so far he is struggling with the problem of his race car, which cannot make friends with tires. Team boss Gunther Steiner he described the car as the most unusual in his career. South Tyrol admits that the car shows flashes of excellent speed, but finding a solution to its shortcomings is more difficult than if the car were constantly uncompetitive.
"We have a lot of work to do and for the rest of the season we know we need to learn to drive the car and the tires better. If you have a bad car, you have a big problem, but if you think the problem with a car that sometimes shows good form is minor, you are wrong. The problem is even greater. Because it's somewhere and you just have to find it, but it's very difficult," so Steiner, who admits that eliminating tire problems is vital for the team, especially in terms of the 2020 season car.
When asked what the realistic goal is for the rest of this season, it is Steiner said: “Fight. I have no idea about the real goal. Maybe we understand the problem between the car and the tires as best we can. And this is not an easy task. But the goal is clear, we need to understand this connection well so that we do not fall into this trap next year."
