Teams they are not enthusiastic about the standard parts of racing cars, because these parts limit them at development work. In addition, purchased items are often viewed with concern, especially as far as it is concerned performance, reliability also heavier. The idea of a variant Open Source would anticipate that teams would continue to shape their parts themselves, but plans and designs these elements would be shared with others. That pooling knowledge could lower development costs and make it easier for new teams to enter Formula 1.

Racing Point technical chief Andrew Green is excited about the idea of Open-Source

Competitors you might want to consider whether to gain plans of other teams and even develop these parts further. For new teams however, this means that they do not have to start from scratch. "The FIA has proposed such a system of Open-Source parts," he confirmed Andrew Green, technical team leader Racing Pointwho is enthusiastic about this idea. “Teams would post their designs on the FIA website and everyone else could see what they could use and choose what they needed." British emphasizes that each team strives for the most efficient design and hopes that this idea will continue to be followed.

The teams would upload their element designs, which were originally planned in the standardization category, to the FIA website, where all participants in the championship would have access.

Green is still convinced that this could save on costsand increased at the same time performance race car. After all, it will be the standard weight of a race car in flight 2021 increased by about 30 kilograms - also because of 18 inch wheels and potential safety measures following a tragic accident by a young person Anthoine Hubert. In addition, you could use this method preventedto make all race cars look the same external image. This criticism was constantly used by the teams in their own criticism against standardized works.
