Ferrari was looking for happiness in the race for the GP of Mexico shared strategy. Sebastian Vettel je Lewis Hamilton chased by strategy one stop, Charles Leclerc however, he drove with strategy two stops. After the race, suspicion arose that the Italians out of their chances they did not get the best result. Without stepping on Ferrari’s toes, but whoever starts the race from the first starting row and end it braking on the second and fourth, easily did not do the right job.

Charles Leclerc was self-critical after the race: “As for our strategy, I need to be more determined. I still have a lot to learn about this, especially how to approach the race optimally, which has been shown in all the last races. Okay, our strategy wasn’t good, but I attribute some of the blame to myself as well. I could call on the radio and ask for a different approach. I need to become more determined and help the team in this way. Just like Seb did."

Until his first stop in the pits, Leclerc looked good as he led the race in a controlled manner.

Still Leclerc says: “It would be too easy to say that the two-stop strategy was to blame because we finished the race from fourth place only in fourth place. I didn’t drive well in the second segment of the race, I just didn’t feel good in the middleweight division. I have no idea why that was the case, but at the start of the race, also at the middleweight division, it was much better. We need to look at this carefully now."

At the second stop, however, it broke because he lost precious seconds due to his right rear wheel, which cost him at least third place.

young Monachan then adds: "We were forced into a relatively early stop to secure ourselves against Albon. From that point on, the two-stop strategy was prescribed in advance. And from here on out, it was also clear to me that this was going to be a pretty tough afternoon. It was important for us to have a clear path and not to hang out with competitors. Because refrigeration is always at the limit here in Mexico. For a few moments it seemed as if the strategy of two stops would be a blessing, but the longer the race lasted, the more it was clear that this would not be the case."
