Donkervoort D8 GTO: Birthday present for the boss

The gift, however, is not meant for itself Joop Donkervoort, but for customers of this Dutch sports car brand. They will only build 70 cars JD70, i.e. one car for each year of the founder’s life. The JD70 will be a further development of the series D8 GTO.

The car will drive Audi's 2,5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine, which will produce 420 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. The transmission will be manual, namely five-speed. Faster shifting will be supported by the intermediate gas function. On the rear axle, it will provide better grip partial differential lock. New exhaust system with particulate filter for Euro6d standard the exhaust ends in front of the rear wheels.

Only a 700 pound athlete

The weight of this sports car is supposed to be about 700 pounds. The JD70 is said to be suitable for both the normal road and the racetrack. Lateral acceleration would not be possible over 2 g, with longitudinal acceleration 1,02 g and when braking up to 1,65 g. In doing so Donkervoort bets on adjustable front and rear stabilizers as well as wide suspension and adjustable shock absorbers. In addition, they take care of the front cover, smoothed bottom and modified fender for additional vacuum - up to 80 kilograms at the rear and 50 kilograms at the front.

Athlete performance data Donkervoort D8 GTO JD70, which is expected to cost from 163.636,36 euros (plus tax), the Dutch want to disclose only at the planned presentation of the car. The new owners will get their athletes in 2020 and 2021, and they can already place orders right away.
