Two months ago, they revealed what kind of powertrain they will install in the newcomer. It's a four-liter AMG's V8who can maximum power of 404 kW (550 hp) and 700 Nm of maximum torque, and is basically the same as the powertrains in the models Vantage in DB11 V8. From standstill to 100 km / h, the Aston Martin DBX accelerates in 4,5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 291 km / h.
The engine works with nine-speed automatic transmission in four-wheel drive, there is also a pair of differentials on board, the one in the middle is of an active nature, and the rear view allows for a partial lock and the possibility of playing with torque between the two wheels.
The exterior of the DBX model follows the sporty orientation of the brand, which means flowing lines, a recognizable radiator grille and oval headlights. The underside of the car is clad in black, and the rear of the vehicle is modeled after the model Vantage, with the difference that the rear lights are a light strip and a spoiler at the same time.
Inside, it is quite clear that it was the designers the well-being of passengers and, above all, the driver. In front of the latter is a three-spoke steering wheel, behind which are digital gauges, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system screen is mounted on the center console. The "floating" center channel contributes to the feeling of spaciousness, but in this segment, of course, there is no panoramic glass roof, leather on the seats and everywhere else, and of course - Alcantara.
The Aston Martin DBX is definitely not an easy category, as it is weighs as much as 2.245 kilograms, is therefore equipped with active air suspension and adjustable shock absorbers, with which the car can be raised (by 45 mm) or lowered (by 50 mm) depending on the terrain needs.
At the presentation, the head of the company, Andy Palmersaid: »The DBX is a car that will be the first contact for the Aston Martin brand for many. That is why we made a special effort to develop and design it in the genuine spirit of the brand. We have the result we wanted and we can be proud of.«
Prices for the German and British markets are already known - the first will require a deduction for the basic version of the DBX model 193.500 euros, in the UK, however, it will be worth £ 158.000.
