DAVID RICHARDS: Engines are too expensive and too complicated

In the year 2014 se v Formula 1 introduced hybrid technology with new ones V6 turbo engines, in season 2015 however, a fourth manufacturer, the Japanese, joined the royal motorsport class Honda.

There was also talk of Fr. other candidates, such as Porsche, but this has never happened, as new stakeholders are discouraged the cost of new power units, that Fr complexity we don't talk at all. This led to negotiations between the umbrella organization FIA and current engine manufacturers in Formula 1 on component abandonment MGU-Hwhen new technical rules come into force. But it fell into the water and Formula 1 will continue with existing engines.

Current Formula 1 engine manufacturers want to keep the current state of the engines, which is why potential Formula 1 candidates are avoided in a wide arc.

David Richards considers that this discourages new potential producers. “The investment for these engines is huge," so Richards for colleagues from Motorsport. "This is something that car manufacturers today cannot even think about in the current environment. Formula 1 should take a few steps back before it is even possible for someone to invest the money needed to put themselves on the same level as the government at current manufacturers."

David Richards is convinced that new potential engine manufacturers are discouraged from entering Formula 1 by the fact that they are too expensive and too complicated.

"These powertrains have the most advanced internal combustion engines ever built," so British. Former team leader Bar in Benetton he added that under current engine rules, it is very unlikely that v Formula 1 came a new independent manufacturer. “Certainly not with the technical regulations we have today, as engines are too expensive and too complicated."
