New OPEL MOKKA: Compact electric SUV

Opel brings a new brand image and electric drive with the new Mokka. Orders will begin to be accepted at the end of this summer.

Mokkini days have been numbered since Opel left General Motors and landed under the auspices of the group PSA. The small SUV was based on GMs and it was clear that the new German-French alliance would sooner or later open a new chapter. After the first design sketches and a number of spy shots, Opel has now released the first images of the compact SUV and also revealed some details of the technique, which they intended for him.

Compared to the current model it will second generation Mokka by 12,5 centimeters shorter, which is even a few centimeters less than at Opel Crossland X. Now the 4,15-meter-short Opel representative has a trunk volume of 350 liters, but with comparable equipment it is up to 120 kilograms lighter than the current model.

The new Mokka is the first Opel to feature a Pure Panel digital dashboard.

Nova Mocha-e it is also equipped for the first time with a fully digital dashboard "Pure Panel", which is directed towards the driver. The two wide-angle screens, which represent the screen in front of the driver, can be large up to 12 inches and show all relevant information. Unlike other manufacturers, Opel still has it physical buttons for most features such as air conditioning and infotainment system.

Nova Opel Mokka is perfect electric vehicle, which means that it is powered by an electric motor of maximum power 100 kW (136 HP) and 260 Nm of maximum torque. Power supply is the responsibility of the battery with the capacity 50 kWh, which has an eight-year warranty and is built into the bottom of the vehicle. This is supposed to lower the center of gravity of the vehicle and increase it at the same time body stiffness by 30 percent.

According to the WLTP, the range is 332 kilometers, and Opel claims that in eco mode it is possible to achieve a few more kilometers. Especially since he has electric mocha it reaches a maximum speed in favor of limited to 150 km / h. The electric SUV is basically ready for all possible charging options (single-phase and three-phase).

Pre-orders will be accepted by Opel in late summer, and the first deliveries are expected at the end of this year.
