AUSTRIAN GP, race: Sovereign victory of BOTTAS and LECLERC's resurrection

The first race after a 217-day forced break due to coronavirus brought (almost) everything that Formula 1 fans have been missing lately. Drama, resignations and overtaking, only Valtteri Bottas seemed to be playing simultaneous with everyone else in Spielberg.

Valtteri Bottas he won a chaotic race GP of Austria, where we saw a lot of close encounters, breakdowns, penalties, which made the safety car have quite a bit of work to do. The order is the same as before the start of the race the greatest optimists would not predict. Because of the punishment Lewis Hamilton in the final phase of the race, the commissioners imposed a mark-up penalty on him five seconds, so they surprisingly found themselves on the winners stage Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Lando Norris (McLaren).

The first shock we witnessed before the start of the race, when the commissioners, after re-examining the case of the yellow flags and Lewis Hamilton yesterday in the qualifiers today, decided to impose a penalty on the six-time world champion mark-up of three places, which is why he started the race as sixth. So he moved to the front row Max Verstappen. The race itself has been a clear matter from the start, as it is Bottas sovereignly controlled the field, Hamilton however, he slowly made his way to Verstappen, who, however, resigned shortly afterwards in the 11th round.

In the 18th round, he drove into the pits Daniel Ricciardo and resigned, presumably due to cooling problems. In the 21st round, however, he resigned Lance stroll. The reason for his resignation will later employ both Mercedes racers.

Meanwhile, we saw a rotation Romain Grosjean, who dropped to seventeenth place and a little later in the third turn, presumably due to brake failure, his teammate also flew off the track Kevin Magnussen and it was time for a safety car.

The safety car phase was used by most racers to stop in the pits, most of the leaders including Bottas however, she fitted hard tires that were supposed to allow her to drive to her destination. There was almost a collision between during the boxing stops Perez in Norris, but in the end it all came together without a collision, with the Mexican pulling this short and losing one spot.

Order after the restart in the 31st round: Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton, Alexander Albon, Lando Norris (all on hard mix), Sergio Perez (medium mixture). It's after the flying start Hamilton honestly pressed on Bottas, who, however, successfully defended himself against a teammate. Sebastian Vettel he continued the race from eighth place but tried to overtake Carlos Sainz spun and fell to 15th place.

Soon after halfway through the race Mercedes advised his drivers to avoid the curbs on suspicion of transmission problems. So Valtteri Bottas feces Lewis Hamilton they received this message several times. In the 47th round, the chief engineer also spoke about the matter James allison.

Romain Grosjean in the 50th lap he drove slowly through the excursion zone, parked his car, and soon after that he was left without power. Williams FW43 by George Russell, which forced the young Briton to park the car in a dangerous place and drove to the track in Spielberg. safety car.

Alexander albon took advantage of the safety car phase and replaced hard tires with soft ones and retreated from third to fourth place, leaving both Mercedes drivers on hard tires. Order after the flying start in the 55th lap: Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton, Sergio Perez, Alexander Albon, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc.

It's in the hairpin then Albon attacked Laziness, but were disturbed by the new arrival of a safety car on the track. This time because of Kimi Räikönen, which tore off his front right wheel on the start-finish plane. In the 60th lap, there were only 13 riders left.

This is how the front right wheel of Alfi Kimi Räikönnen fell off.

Order after the flying start in the 61st round: Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton, Alexander Albon, Sergio Perez, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc. He followed Sebastian Vettel in eleventh place. Shortly afterwards, they "collided" in the fourth corner Albon in Hamilton, with the Thais spinning and falling to last place, while the Briton won five-second penalty.

Until then, relatively invisible Charles Leclerc overtook him in the third corner of the 66th lap Sergio Pereza and advanced to third place. But then it all happened very quickly. Alex Albon resigned, Lando Norris he overtook Laziness for fourth place, and the Mexican was penalized with a five-second penalty for speeding in the pits.

After 71 laps, he was the first to cross the finish line Valtteri Bottas before Lewis Hamilton in Charles Leclerc, but the Briton fell into fourth place due to a five-second penalty, and he was looking forward to his first steps in his career Lando Norris.
