HUNGARY GP, Qualifications: Statements of the first three racers

With today's 90th pole position, Lewis Hamilton has set a new milestone in Formula 1, which he will surely improve to a three-digit number if the world does not collapse.

Mercedes continues to reign in Formulas 1, you could say arbitrarily, but largely by rivals from the camp Red Bull Racing and even more Ferrari they’re not challenging at all, as they’re obviously in bad shape this year. So they have silver arrows in this year black exterior first pursuers in partner teams v pink appearance.

Let’s take a look at what the first three racers of today’s qualifiers said Hungarian GP, who will fight for World Cup points tomorrow.

Lewis Hamilton - pole position"It’s just crazy, I have to pinch myself. I feel a lot of humility when I hear such numbers and I can look forward to a new best starting place. We have an amazing group of people behind us, to whom I am very grateful. They are constantly raising the bar for our competitors. Nor does Valtteri make my life easier. But the race car was really brilliant. Otherwise, I wouldn’t claim to have been lying like on rails, but it definitely goes in that direction. The last lap was great, in turn 11 it goes at full throttle. But now I’m already thinking about the race and that long journey in the first turn. I don't expect gifts. A good result in qualifying does not guarantee a good result in a race. It is not yet clear what the weather will be like tomorrow. We have a very long race ahead of us and I am ready for anything."

Valtteri Bottas - second place"I knew from free practice and the first two parts of the qualifiers that it would be very close with Lewis. As a team, we showed a strong performance, obviously we are far ahead of the competition. That's nice to see. My laps were solid and even the last decisive one was good, but I have to admit it didn’t go any faster. Lewis was simply better today. It didn't go well at the beginning, I didn't feel good when braking before the first turn, nor in the second. But in the end, everything was fine, so I even thought that if I could match it all, I might be able to beat Lewis. It is clear to me that if I want to remain the leader in the championship, I have to continue to win races. And winning tomorrow’s race would be a good foundation."

Lance Stroll - third place"I am very happy. The race car is strong all weekend and in the qualifiers we managed to put all the parts together and qualify for the second starting line. Speed was always present, we just had to manage to put together a perfect circle. It is more than obvious that we have a very competitive car this year, although not everything went according to plan in Austria. My goal for tomorrow's race is to help the team win a hefty number of points."

The joy of Lance Stroll when he was told on the radio that he had won third place in today’s qualifiers.
