LIBERTY MEDIA has invested in the INDYCAR series team

Liberty Media, the majority owner of Formula 1, has bought a stake in the Michael Shank and Jim Meyer team in the IndyCar series. And what is the background to this investment of theirs?

Iz USA comes a rather surprising news. LibertyMedia, the majority own royal class of motorsport, secured shares for the racing team Meyer Shank Racing, appearing in the series IndyCar and the American Sports Car Championship.

The question arises as to why owner of Formula 1 interested in this investment? Clearly, yes Liberty Medium comes from the US and IndyCar, with its famous race Indy 500, he still has a huge charisma on the other side of the pond. Liberty Media was also considered a candidate for last year purchase of the IndyCar series. This has now been done by a racing legend Roger Penske. Business with the team Meyer Shank Racing was concluded corporate network Jim Meyer, who has already worked with Liberty Media.

James Meyer and Michael Shank will put another race car on the track next season, which will allow them to invest in Liberty Media, the majority owner of Formula 1.

With an investment Liberty Media the team will probably be in season 2021 put another race car on the track, next to it Dallara-Hondamanaged by Jack Harvey. There are also racers in the conversation for the second race car Formula 1, who will be left without a seat in the 2021 season. For example Sergio Perez in Kevin Magnussen. The team wanted to enter the series IndyCar as early as 2012, but it wasn’t until 2017 that there was collaboration with the team in the Indy 500 race Andretti Autosport. In the 2018 and 2019 seasons, the Meyer Shank team worked with the team Schmidt herself, and this year they are performing independently.
