Theo POURCHAIRE: Formula 3 runner-up will make his Formula 2 debut in Bahrain

Seventeen-year-old Frenchman Theo Pourchaire will make his debut in the last four races of the Formula 2 season in Bahrain in a month and a half.

Pourchaire is a member of Sauber’s offspring (Sauber Junior Academy), a team that otherwise competes in F1 under the name Alfa Romeo, and behind him is a short but impressive career. He made his single-seater championships in 2018, driving French Formula 4. He won the youth championship of this category and then won in 2019 German ADAC F4 in front of the young man Red Bulla, Dennis Hauger and Ferrari's hopes, Arthur Leclerc, younger brother Charles Leclerc.

He made his debut this year in Formulas 3 and impressed again - at barely 16 years he achieved his first victory, but by the end of the season he had won once again and was only three points behind the F3 champion in a close battle for the title, Oscar Piastri.

“We are happy to be able to give such an extremely talented young driver his first steps in Formula 2. Theo’s talent is undeniable. The success he has achieved in his short career speaks for itself. We are excited about his debut in Bahrain. He has proven many times in previous years that he can adapt quickly to the requirements of the new category, ” spoke of the young Frenchman in selected words Thomas Strick, team boss Hwa.
