The promoter of the World Motorcycling Championship, Dorna, and the World Motorsport Association (FIM) announced a provisional and "Provisional" calendar for the World Motorcycle Championship season 2021.
“We are trying to get back to normal. We talked to the organizers and determined the usual calendar, because it is important that we take these dates into account and know exactly on which days each grand prize will be held, ” explained the CEO of the company Dorna, Carmelo Ezpeleta. “We hope to be able to do everything together in the way we set out to do. But of course there are still many unknowns. ”
Vse dates and and the dates of the races must of course be taken with some reserve, as they depend on the further development of the covid-19 pandemic and the relevant decisions of the competent authorities. The same, of course, applies to possible presence fans in the stands.
As Ezpeleta already announced, they have prepared for the cancellation of any of the races three alternative locations, where any canceled races could be held.
It's still missing from the calendar Czech GP, because Dorna for years he has been struggling with the problems caused by the organizer of the race in the land of dumplings, beer and beautiful girls. Consortium Grand Prix team otherwise brings together the Czech Government in Prague, the South Moravian Region and the City Government of Brno, which share the costs of implementation Czech GP. At Dorna, the consortium is required to commit to the renovation of the racetrack (especially the asphalt) and to prepare the appropriate conditions for the race.
In so far as Czechs will not proceed with the renovation, they may be wiped under the nose to extend the contract. Non-inclusion on the provisional calendar is, in fact part of the pressure, which Dorna Sports performs on the Czech organizers, and we’ll see how things unfold up to August 8, 2021, when the race in Brno is scheduled.
