TURKEY GP, race: Statements of the best three RACERS

Behind us is a very exciting and tense race that ended with the victory of Lewis Hamilton. For the first time this year on

Following the example of last year Hockenheim we are in Turkey experienced another exciting and tense race, which, unlike last year's German race, ended with the victory of the favorite.

Lewis Hamilton he convincingly secured his own with this victory seventh title in his career and thus equated with Michael Schumacher, which he has already overtaken after the victories. Although he had a racer Mercedesa also luckily, it must be admitted that he drove the whole race wisely.

They kept him company on stage Sergio Perez from the team Racing Point in Sebastian Vettel iz Ferrari, the latter tasted the champagne of the first three for the first time this year. They both came out as the winners of the tricolor s Charles Leclerc, which was already overtaken at first Mexican, but due to a minor error after returning the stroke Laziness, drove off the track and was raced by both Racing Point racer and teammate at Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes - race winner

"I can’t comprehend what happened today. I have no words. First of all, a big thank you to everyone on the team, without these people on the track and in the factories, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this. I would like to tell you that I am very proud of you. At the moment, I think a lot about my family, who, despite the hardships, have always believed in me. And I hope I can show all young people to believe in their dreams. Never let them tell you that certain goals cannot be achieved. Never give up, never doubt yourself."

He said about today's race: "We weren’t that good at training and we knew we had a tough task ahead of us. But our team is known for never giving up and for always learning alongside in the most difficult moments. In the meantime, I didn’t even understand what happened at the race. Alex ran away from me and I thought the race was crawling through my fingers, but somehow I found the speed and rhythm. Before that, however, it was not clear to me what was going on with the tires. Towards the end of the race, the tires were really worn out as we made slick tires from the intemediates. I was afraid to get into the pits because I didn’t forget China in 2007. Because of that, I preferred to stay outside. I never thought I would win as many titles as Michael. At first I allowed myself to win as many titles as my role model Ayrton Senna, and now seven. Unbelievable."

Sergio Perez, Racing Point - second place

"The key to this success was in treating the gums like raw eggs. I made my stop already in the tenth lap and led to the finish line with these tires, as we believed that we had a better chance of a good result if we gave up two stops. Towards the end of the race we left all the options open. The track began to dry out, which would pull the tires behind the dry track, but no one knew how these would behave on the partially wet track. On top of that, the team announced that it would rain towards the end of the race. So it was right that we stayed on these tires. But by the end of the race they were already completely destroyed, the vibrations were getting worse and I was afraid they would burst. I don’t believe I could take another two laps with them. At the end of the race, Charles had a higher speed than me and overtook me in the ninth turn. But then he slipped off the track and in the eleventh turn I was able to drive in front of him again. In the end, Sebastian would almost get me."

Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari - third place

"It was an intense and long race that was a lot of fun at the same time. I managed to drive a brilliant first lap and swung to fourth place. In the first round, I acted more cautiously, which other colleagues did not do. One of the Renaults spun, the other racers were confused. I already gained a few places back then. When there were rain tires on the car, it felt good. After switching to intermediates, that feeling was lost for a short time and only towards the end of the race was I able to add on speed. The last round was just crazy. Wow. I never thought I could get on the podium. The conditions were very tricky. I saw Charles attack Perez, who was having big problems with his tires. I was lucky and I could still overtake Sergio, but I would need another lap for that."
