DACIA BIGSTER Concept: ATTRACTIVENESS and ACCESSIBILITY are not excluded

Rumors of a larger Dacia SUV have been circulating for years, and the Romanian carmaker has just put an end to it with the introduction of the Bigster concept.

The study offers a pre-series view of the other SUV marks after Duster, which is expected to be encountered on the roads before 2025, as shown by the official plan published by the group Renault. The Romanian brand is also expected to present two innovations in segment B.

Dacia Bigster at 4,6 meters in length, it is almost as long as Škoda Kodiaq, which measures 4,697 mm in length, which is 280 mm more than the second generation Duster. According to the manufacturer, this means “Very spacious interior” and most likely also the third row of seats, which at Dacii have not yet been confirmed.

His silhouette is not far from Dusters, but from a design standpoint it is Bigster look like something completely new Dacia's portfolio. The front has a very futuristic light signature, bulky trim on the lower parts of the body, which are made of recycled plastics, a muscular bonnet, wide fenders and Y-shaped horizontal taillights. If the Romanians don’t surprise us, the shape of the production model will be significantly less dramatic.

“Dacia Bigster Concept reflects brand development”, said the design director Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos. “It is an essential basis, with a touch of originality and an adventurous spirit. It proves that attractiveness and accessibility are not mutually exclusive. At Dacia, we believe that our cars are proof of that. ”

Novi SUV will be made on the platform CMF-B, which he will share with the new one Logan in Sander, Renault Clio in Captur ter Nissan Juke in Notes. A set of powertrains will be released as things get closer to the series, and are expected to include more petrol engines and at least one hybrid.
