WILLIAMS is expected to become a partner of the ALPINE team and their B-TEAM in 2022

This is stated by the Italian colleagues from Gazzetta dello Sport, who refer to their compatriot, who is at the head of the French car manufacturer and whose plan is to acquire a satellite partner, following the example of other manufacturers.

It's the end of January last year Luca de Meo became the new head of the concern Renault. The 53-year-old Italian has done a lot of work since then, Cyril Abiteboul he had to leave Renault however, in Formula 1 it changed to Alpine. Apparently, however, his next project is to get a team on his side Williams, as a partner and B-team or following the example AlphaTauria hardening of young racers for Alpine F1.

Italian colleagues from Journal of Sport. The famous pink newspaper writes that it will Alpine team Williams supplied with engines as early as the 2022 season, when new rules come into force. “Ambitions are high and it is quite clear to Luca de Meo, as well as to everyone else who understands motorsport, that as long as Alpine is independent, it will not be able to compete equally with Mercedes, which has three partners (McLaren, Aston Martin, Williams), Ferrari (Alfa Romeo, Haas) in Hondi (Red Bull, AlphaTauri),”They wrote in the newspaper. Because other suppliers engines they will get a lot more data, which will of course facilitate their development.

According to reports Williams also became a youth or B-team French team Alpine, which is another advantage of the manufacturer. For them, this is very important, because currently in Formulas 1 they don’t have places where they could put their young talents from their own academy in the cockpit like they are Christian lundgaard in Guanyu-Zhou. Competitors like Red Bull, Mercedes in Ferrari they have that option. It's about time Williams published a plan to strengthen cooperation with Mercedes. Because next year we would no longer just buy from a German manufacturer engines, but also mconverters and other parts. This arrangement of theirs seems to have been delayed or abandoned because it is Alpine put a better offer on the table.
