ROME ePrix, II. race: Stoffel VANDOORNE won the FOURTH race of the SEASON

Stoffel Vandoorne brought Mercedes his second win of the season in Sunday's Formula E race in Rome.

Team driver Mercedes, Stoffel Vandoorne, won the fourth race of the Formula E 2021 championship season in Rome on Sunday. After 45 minutes and one lap, Belgian won before Alexander Sims (Mahindra) and Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche), who finished second and third.

Wehrlein he found himself on the podium due to the penalty of the third-place finisher Norman Nat (Venturi), who consumed too much energy at the end of the race. He was fourth Edward Mortara (Venturi), followed by him Maximilian Gunther (BMW and Andretti), Mitch Evans (Jaguar), title defender Antonio Felix daCosta (DS Techeetah), Sebastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams), Tom blomqvist (Nio) and Nico Müller (Dragon-Penske).

Sam bird (Jaguar) and Nyck de Vries (Mercedes), who held first and third place in the drivers' standings before the race, collided with each other in the last lap and, like the runner-up, Robin Frijns (Virgin) left without points. Bird in Jaguar they nevertheless defended the lead on the ladder.

Despite a collision with Nyck de Vries and a zero in Sunday’s race, Sam bird (Jaguar) remains the overall leader in the championship.

For a former team racer McLaren in F1 it was the second win in Formula E, for Mercedes and third overall and already second in the 2021 season. He leads the overall standings after four races Bird with 43 points ahead of his teammate Evans (39) in Freins (34). In the team standings, Jaguar is well ahead with 82 points Mercedes (64) in DS Techeetah (46)

Priority Formula E continues in two weeks (April 24 and 25) with the premiere race at the racetrack Ricardo Tormo v Valencia. The third stop of the 2021 season will again be a double event with races on Saturday and Sunday.
