Romain GROSJEAN praises TIRES in the IndyCar series, WITH WHICH THEY CAN ATTACK

The Frenchman, who moved to the American indyCar series at the end of last season in F1, is enthusiastic about the tires from the manufacturer Firestone.

Romain Grosjean found his new domicile on the other side of the Atlantic, in a series IndyCar. A former Formula 1 racer, who of course we also remember after severe accident in Bahrain, is already in his third race in "India" won the pole position and eventually placed on the podium as well. He attributes much of his success tires.

“Tire heaters are not used in IndyCar, so you always have to be very careful when exporting from the pits. But otherwise the tires are phenomenal, ” real racer from Geneva, which can also be heard indirectly critique of Pirelli, which is the supplier of tires for Formula 1. Many racers are of the opinion that the tires in the F1 are too sensitive and therefore do not allow drivers to make the most of them. It's years ago Michael Schumacher even said that driving with Pirelli tires similar to the rolling of raw eggs.

Romain Grosjean is passionate about tires from Firestone, a supplier of tires for IndyCar since 2000.

With things like that Grosjean he is no longer burdened this year, as he says: “You can easily always attack with them, which makes racing more fun. You can drive at full throttle from the first to the last lap. ”

He's French excited nad Firestone tires and the fact that he does not have to worry about excessive tire wear, overheating or graining during the race: “The races here are really interesting, much more so than in F1. It’s true that it’s all very demanding from a physical strength standpoint, but it’s all a lot of fun. It is true that the IndyCar race car is more at the Formula 2 level than at the F1 level in terms of power and technique, but it still allows for a lot of setting options. However, I think it is easier for a Formula 1 racer to be successful in Indy than vice versa. ”
