Statements

MaxVerstappen, Red Bull - pole position"So far, this has been a very positive racing weekend for us on the track, which is usually tough for us. Yesterday’s second free practice was actually a turning point for us, and today it went even better. Winning the pole is obviously very good. Of course, there are no points you can score today, but it’s still a great day. We have to finish what we started tomorrow. We want to win those 25 points we lost in Baku. I hope we continue to perform at this level. Our race simulation shows very well and also the feel in the car is good. I look forward to tomorrow’s race."

Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes - second place"It was a really busy weekend. Especially mentally, as I was just trying to put the car in a happy place. We’ve been struggling with problems all weekend and you won’t believe how many changes I’ve made since my first free workout so I could get back to something decent. I was unhappy in my race car all weekend. Congratulations Max, they did an amazing job this weekend and are very fast. They got a new engine this weekend. But I love the battle."

Valtteri Bottas, Mercedes - third place"It was a strong racing weekend. Definitely better than a few weeks ago. We had the necessary speed and today we could see that between us and Red Bullom very closely. I can’t be happy with third place today because I had a very good weekend, but it was Red Bull faster than us today."
