SAINZ with mixed feelings about THIRD place

Carlos Sainz finished the Russian Grand Prix race in third place, but after the end of the race he didn’t know whether to rejoice or get angry.

Because at the beginning of the race he broke into leadership, but after a stop in the pits they made him competitors overtook and fell far back. Thanks to the rain, he was able to make up for a few spots.

First place at the start of the race was won by s with a great start, in which he was too fast for two racers with Mercedes an engine that is better than Ferrari’s and that was it Lando Norris in George Russell.

Carlos Sainz managed a great start and even led Norris and Russell to his stop, which was unexpectedly earlier than planned.

"I had a good start and it was a priority not to lose much against George and then I was able to make my way to Lando and overtake him in the second turn. However, graining then ensued. Because of this, we had to change tires early, which we had to manage a lot. Then came the rain at the best possible time when my hard tires ran out. We made the stop at the right time and managed to get back to third place."
