LANCIA Delta Integrale is now also ELECTRIC-powered

ancia has officially confirmed the return of Delta in the form of an electric sedan, but believe it or not, there is a company that already makes electric Delta, and even Delta Integrale.

The company GCK Exclusive announced the arrival of the model Lancia Delta Evo, whose goal is to limit the production of 47 units at a price that is still unknown, but probably quite salty. So-called electric modes are becoming more and more a trend, so it was only a matter of time before someone would use this grip on the original Delta.

The man behind the conversion is Guerlain Chichers, owner of the company GCK Motorsport, which also manufactures electric offroad racing cars. He chose to play the role of brand ambassador Didier Auriol, a former rally driver and WRC champion who drove four seasons at the World Championships behind the wheel of a Delta.

From a design standpoint Lancia Delta Evo-e does not deviate much from the original. It is after the restoration of the donor car GCK Motorsport added carbon fiber components such as the front sill, rear spoiler and rear diffuser throughout the bodywork, bringing some modern solutions to the classic boxy design of the original Delta.

Inside, the upgrade process includes Alcantara with contrasting orange stitching, steering wheel brands momoBy Recar's seats, modern audio system Blam and a retractable brand infotainment touch screen Alpine, thus preserving the classic look of the dashboard.

Even more important are the changes under the hood. The gasoline engine replaced the electric motor with power 147 kW (200 HP) and 350 Nm of maximum torque, a less potent option is an electric motor of maximum power 90 kW (122 PS) and 200 Nm of torque. By today’s standards, these numbers may sound low, but they are pretty close in power to the original car.

The battery is relatively small in capacity 29 kWh and offers a 200km range, but doesn’t contribute much extra weight. The car weighs so much 1.440 kg, making it only 100 kg heavier than the original. In terms of capacity, GCK Exclusive predicts a sprint from a standstill to a hundred in 6,6 seconds, which is probably not the most important figure for this car.
