In compliance with current rules in Formula 1 racers are limited to a certain number every engine component you can freely used during the season. Each subsequent component entails a penalty.

Replacement complete drive units means moving the racer to the start of the starting line - of course, given the fact that the racer has exceeded the permitted number, which is three propulsion units. The first overrun of each individual components means 10 places, and then the racer, when he replaces some component again, only gets more five places mark-up on the starting line. It's in Brazil Lewis Hamilton got a new engine with internal combustion, which earned him a five-place mark-up penalty. V Turkeywhen he first exceeded the allowed number, however, he got ten seats.

When asked by colleagues from Motorsport.com, what does he think about penalties for changing the engine and components and that the racer after the second exceedance of the permitted number gets only five places, is Max Verstappen said: “This is something that needs to be looked at. First the penalty is 10 places and then 5 and that seems a bit illogical to me. If you continue to accept motor penalties, I think the same number of penalties should remain because you are constantly exceeding the allowable limit. Yes, that’s something we should look at, as we could clearly see in Brazil that the other teams didn’t have a chance to do anything against us and Mercedes. So a five-place penalty isn’t such a big deal."

Hamilton was in Brazil in his league, he started the race from tenth place, but quickly caught up and overtook Verstappen and finally won sovereign victory. This dominance then continued well into Qatar, where Hamilton won the pole position and walked to victory again. And those two consecutive wins allowed him to be two races before the end of the season behind Max Verstappn reduced to eight points.

Dutchman but he is not the only one who has stumbled upon it for many incomprehensible rule motor penalties. On the one hand, there is talk of saving and to this end allows racers to use only without penalty three drive units, on the other hand spread the race calendar. We have next year 23 dirk, to which more will be added 6 sprints. So over the thumb we can say that the racers will have to s three powertrains “Survive” what 25 dirk. Otherwise it falls off 6 free workouts, but we can't compare you to a sprint race. And looking at how many teams have received this year punishment due to engine replacement - Mercedes even leads here - it would definitely make sense to increase the number to five drive units. Ah yes, saving ……
