Free practice on FRIDAY remains 60 minutes: TEAMS reach agreement

According to preliminary reports that both trainings will last 90 minutes again on Friday, the Dutch De Telegraaf is now announcing that all free trainings will last 60 minutes this year as well.

V last year was introduced new format, in which free training sessions last only one hour. With that, Formula 1 hoped to have more action on the track and last season was a case in point. In the past, we haven't seen a race car on the track for a long time in the first and second practice, but now this happens very rarely.

Although this turned out to be the case successful move, is the sports policy for the season 2022 anticipated that they would first and second free practice on Friday it lasted again after . This would return to the old form, which has now changed. February Formula 1 they talked to teams and based on that, it was decided that both free practice sessions on Friday will continue this year as well .

If it can be formula 1 reached an agreement with the teams in terms of duration free training, but this is completely different with sprint races. Understandably, in this case everything revolves around money. Some teams want to increase the budget ceiling by around $ 5 million, which smaller teams do not support. At the moment, Formula 1 does not have the necessary ones eight votesto be able to perform this year six sprint races, so it may happen that this year at all we will not see.
