This is what the FIRST MODEL of the new BMW era could look like in 2025

Visually derived from the iVision Dee concept, the first electric car in the new class will feature efficient batteries and lots of new technology. Colleagues from Motor1.com made a rendering of the first possible model of the new generation BMW.

Future BMW called "A new class". The platform will debut in 2025 and will be the basis for all future models of the Bavarian company. The architecture should represent the brand a real revolution, as it could redefine drive design, technology and efficiency. The first model of the new era BMW will probably be a sedan that will be introduced in the segment where it is today series 3. What could it look like? Let's try to imagine this with the first computer rendering or rendering, by our colleagues at Motor1.com.

A new identity

Inspiration for the first limousine "New class” comes directly from the concept iVision Dee, presented at the fair CES in Las Vegas in January 2023. No matter how futuristic the study is, he has it on board more solutions, which could become the standard in the coming years. Starting with the new “cooler grid”. BMW in recent years he has experimented with different styles, from the more traditional ones series 3 and 5, to a more upright mask 4 series, to the very distinctive style of the series 7 and X7. Of course, we're talking about a typical BMW here kidneys.

It is assumed that he could have the first BMW of a new class even more innovative front with thin LED headlights, integrated directly into the mask. In general, shapes are expected to be square, although aerodynamics will play an important role. To make up for this, a lot could be done with actives panels and accessories, to best combine battery pack cooling with lower resistance.

Minimalism and new batteries

As with iVision Dee the cockpit is also said to be simplified in terms of its functions. Although it does BMW it most likely won't completely ditch the instrument and infotainment screens, it'll likely be improved voice and gesture control, so that there will be as few distractions as possible while driving. In addition, the brand will be from Munich increased its commitment to more sustainable and environmentally friendly coatings and fabrics.

The interior of the new era of BMWs is said to be completely minimalist, although it is not to be believed that the Bavarians will easily give up their screens in the cockpit.

It is a further break with the past battery pack, which should assume the structural function for the entire body. It should have new batteries 30 percent higher energy density and 50 percent lower production costs than current models and had a capacity of 75 to 150 kWh electricity. BMW aims for maximum range 1.000 kilometers. This is said to be achieved by rear and all four wheel drive and separately excited synchronous motors that achieve 97% efficiency.

Fast charging and great power

The new class will be equipped with 800-volt architecture, which according to the words Frank Weber, BMW's Chief Technology Officer, allows for a high charging speed so that range is possible 48 kilometers achieved with just one minute of charging.

Will the iVision Dee concept, which BMW presented at the CES in Las Vegas this year, be an indicator of the manufacturer's direction in the future?

And then there's here a question of power. The platform will support max 1.000 kW and up to four electric motors, which is the perfect recipe for a future series of more powerful ones M models. But before we see such powerful models, I should BMW focus on mass production models. And for this very reason, he should be a possible successor 3 series (always the best selling BMW in the world) the right choice for this new beginning.
