Toyota Camry has long personified in North America mid-range sedan. While evil tongues keep claiming that it is this one body style dead, Toyota dismisses these rumors and annually sells approx 300.000 vehicles to people who need an affordable and completely reliable vehicle. And now? Now comes a new edition. Already the ninth generation of Toyota Camry.
But this is not about new edition, but rather for extensive processing. The model is based on the same platform TNGA-K as a vehicle 8th generation. However, the suspension has been modified with new shock absorbers and changed setting. Toyota praise the setting with “improved responsiveness and agility". One far-reaching change is that it is Camry now available only with a hybrid powertrain. This one combines 2,5 liter four-cylinder engine with electric motors. Powered version front wheels has two electric motors with a total 228 km. In the version with a drive on all four wheels the third engine is mounted on the rear axle, which increases the total power to 235 km. Both powertrains work with an electronically controlled stepless gearbox (eCVT) and a lithium-ion battery. Performance data will not be released by Toyota until shortly before the launch selling the new Camry.
Visually compared to 8th generation it didn't change much. The new model is equipped as standard with LED headlights, daytime running lights and tail lights. "Ocean Gem"In"Heavy Metal” are new color options. Model XSE it has a body colored lower panel, black trim strips on the trunk and 19-inch rims. It is available with a roof in the color "Midnight Black Metallic"combined with colors"Ocean Gem","Wind Chill Pearl","Heavy Metal”Or“Supersonic Red".
Camry is equipped with 7,0-inch digital instrument panel and 8,0-inch infotainment screen. Models XLE in XSE they have 12,3-inch screens for displays and multimedia functions. The technology supports wireless Apple CarPlay in Android Auto and has a wireless charging pad. It is also available in higher classes 10-inch head-up display. A stereo system is also available JBL with nine speakers. Added to this is the technology package Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 with an anti-collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and traffic sign warning system, automatic high beams, a system for blind spot warning and traffic warning systems. They are also available in higher equipment levels assistant for driving in traffic jams, lane change assistant, panoramic monitor and parking assistant.
Camry is for Toyota still an important vehicle. Years 2022 was a Camry with 295.201 supplied specimens fifth best seller vehicle in USA. She was in fourth place Toyota RAV4 with 399.941 copies. New edition will be available at retailers in the spring of 2024. Although prices haven't been announced yet, we're guessing they won't change significantly.
