New Lancia Ypsilon will have its world premiere February 2024 in Milan. In fact. Photos of the barely camouflaged vehicle that was rescued from the river have now appeared. So the world premiere literally failed. Or it's just fancy PR move?
The fact that it is against the latter spear published a new predictive image, showing the part strikingly designed front part vehicles. It has a new interpretation of the historic refrigerator grille that resembles a goblet, called in Italian cup. Light graphics with three LED strips it projects the iconic refrigerator mask into the future and is visible from afar. "This 'glass of light' will mark the front of the next three new Lancia models. It virtually encapsulates the brand's logo, clearly identifying the vehicle as a Lancia and symbolizing the consistent transition to electromobility,” he comments Luke Napolitano, CEO of the brand spear.
New Lancia lettering are made of satin stainless steel. Model-inspired front Lancia Beta Montecarlo, will be finished in gloss black to highlight the new Lancia lettering in the same way as the model Concept Lancia Pu+Ra HPE. Revealing the new Ypsilon is planned for Februar 2024, initially as an exclusively electric car in an exclusive limited Cassina series in 1906 numbered and certified units. Brand spear was founded in 1906.
But let's go back to prototype, which was pulled out of the water. It was photographed in Montbéliard – a small French village that is only a few kilometers away from the factory Stellantis in Sochaux. The photos were first published by the site East Republican. The prototype is barely camouflaged, so we can make out the attractive round taillights. They are surprisingly reminiscent of Concept Lancia Pu+Ra HPE, as well as the front part. The emblem stands out on the side view spear in the C-pillar. The integrated rear door handles at the front resemble the model Ypsilon, which is currently still available in Italy, as is the pointed part of the rear window.
A model that is supposed to predict the revival of the Lancia brand, has no form SUV, as was long assumed. It will be a classic small car in segment B, such as Peugeot 208 in Opel Corsa, with which it shares a platform CMP, which is designed both for pure electric drive as for classic internal combustion engines, including 48-volt mild hybrids, as they are in the new Corsa.
