It was almost before three years, you may still remember. May 2021 is an Italian company Kimera Cars presented a rather stunning restomod project based on the legendary Lancia 037 – EVO37. Now the story continues. Chimera went back to the drawing board and created a model EVO38.
She was for the good ones then 480.000 euros carbon monocoque chassis available as original Lancia 037 from the eighties (derived from Lancia Beta Montecarlo), except that it was reinforced and slightly adapted. In addition, it was around the block of the original engine 037 built in four-cylinder turbo engine. But with volume 2,1 liter and completely redesigned components that have been enhanced with all the tricks. He also joined the team Miki Biaison, who is like a two-time world champion in racing Lancia Delta brought some expertise to the project.
Shapes and lines are similar to the model 037, the only change in external appearance are LED lights. On the other hand, it is EVO37 slightly longer than the original Lancia, and the body is made of carbon fiber instead of fiberglass. So much for the beginnings of the project. It is now Chimera even better. The biggest innovation in the model EVO38 adding all-wheel drive is likely. Despite the extra hardware, the weight shouldn't be much more than that of the rear-wheel drive EVO37. Italians talk about good ones 1.100 kilograms.
Four cylinder engine with turbine and The Roots chargers now produces, thanks to many improvements 600 BAM in 580 Nm of torque – a good 95 HP and 30 Nm more than before.
