Porsche sold fewer cars globally, a 23% drop in North America

Porsche sales decline globally, plunge 23% in North America In recent years, we've become accustomed to premium car brands regularly reporting sales increases.

Porsche was no exception to this. However, in the first quarter of 2024, it did delivery German brands actually decreased – and strongly in some regions.

In the first three months of the year, Porsche delivered 77.640 vehicles to customers worldwide. That's 4 percent fall compared to the first quarter of 2023 and was the result of significant slowing down deliveries in North America and China. They actually ship to North America decreased by 23% to 15.087 units, from 19.651 a year ago. Chinese supplies have decreased by 24% from 21.365 to 16.340 units.

Porsche blames China slowing down for a focus on high-value-added sales, tight economic conditions and an unusually strong first quarter in 2023 due to post-Covid-19 knock-on effects. It was in North America slowing down mainly attributed to customs delays in shipping some models.

The demand for Porsche's most iconic model, the 911, has increased increased by 17% to 12.892 units. Sales of the Panamera and Taycan, however, did increased by 6% and 4% respectively.

Porsche is despite slowing down supplies optimistic about the rest of the year. The company expects to be strong globally of demand according to his models led to case sales throughout the year.
