Want to join cheap electric car? It was the cheapest full-fledged model on the German market so far Dacia spring, which after the internal bonus cost a little more than 13.000 euros. It is not yet known where the prices will start after the renovation. On China (where Spring is made) are still available cheaper electric cars.
For example Changan Lumin, a three-door city car with four seats. Based on Changan's platform Epa0 and it is considerably smaller than the Fiat Panda: it is long 3.270 mm, wide 1.700 mm and high 1.545 mm, and its center distance is 1.980 mm. It has been on sale since 2022 (only in China), and as of this month, prices have dropped by more than a thousand euros. The cheapest version Sweet (with declared with a range of 155 km in the CLTC cycle) costs 37.900 yuan or approximately 4.835 euros at today's exchange rate. Let's look at this in more detail.
From March 2024, the price list for Changan Lumin starts at 49.900 yuan, which is approx 6.366 euros. As already mentioned, it was the basic version with a power engine 41 km in 12,92 kWh battery reduced by 12.000 yuan (about 1.531 euros) and now costs 4.835 euros; another slow-charging version of the Sweet (the one with a range of 210 km) has been discounted by 8.000 yuan (about 1.020 euros). The price cuts are less generous on the two fast-charging models: the variant Fragrant with reach 205 km and version Honey with reach 301 km are reduced by 5.000 yuan (637 EUR). All versions except version Sweet with a range of 155 km, they also receive a free charger worth 3.288 yuan (419 euros).
The design is striking, with rounded lines on the exterior and similarly cheerful styling on board. On the dashboard we see two color screens: one for the instrument panel and 10,25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Lumin it has a front synchronous permanent magnet electric motor to power it lithium iron phosphate battery, and reaches maximum speed in all versions 101 km/h. With the latest update, the power of the AC charger in the vehicle increased from 2 na 3,3 kW (with direct current, Lumin v 35 minutes filled from 30 to 80 percent).
Main competitors Changana Lumina so Cherry QQ Ice Cream, Lingbox Uni in Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. These are all names that we do not know in Europe, but we must not forget that "cheap" electric cars are also on the rise in our country. New ones Renault Twingo in Volkswagen ID.1 expected to be available in Europe by the end of the year 2027; of the car that was supposed to be standing around 20.000 euros, which is far from the price Changana, but they will represent a breakthrough in our market. However, if they were imported and adapted to European standards, the 4.800 euros that Changan costs would be impossible to maintain.
