Think Audi. Whether it's new or old, SUV or sedan, sports car or small car, the four rings are always there. The famous logo of the German manufacturer is an indispensable detail of every model. A rule that may no longer be followed in the future.
According to a report published by Reuters, future Audis developed in collaboration with SAIC and destined for the Chinese market may no longer carry the four-ring logo. Why? Here is the reason. Audi made this decision precisely because of its cooperation with SAIC and recognition for its valuable support in the development of future electric cars, of which there are expected to be nine vehicles by 2030.
The sources cited by Reuters did not provide any further details, so we don't know if the new model series - internally labeled "Purple" - will carry a different logo, Audi badge or something else. But we won't have to wait long for that. According to sources, the first concept car from the collaboration between Audi and SAIC will be presented in November, and on this occasion the leaders of both companies are expected to explain their plans for the future. Audi declined to comment on the rumors when asked by Reuters, calling them pure speculation. On the other hand, SAIC stated that the next electric cars will be "real Audis". The four-ring logo dates back to 1932, when the four brands DKW, Wanderer, Audi and Horch merged to form Auto Union.
In any case, the latest new models keep the familiar logo: the A5 and A5 Avant replace the previous A4 series, as odd numbers will be reserved for electric cars in the future. Such as the new A6 e-tron with a range of up to 750 kilometers.
Not bad at all…
