Elvis and his Cadillacs – the king of rock'n'roll owned countless models of his favorite brand. The most famous was certainly the pink Fleedwood model from 1955. His last Caddy is now up for auction at Bonhams: a 1977 Seville that looks relatively unassuming but is in excellent condition. Elvis fans take note!
Elvis Presley's 1977 Cadillac Seville, a unique piece of rock and roll history, is being auctioned by Bonhams Cars. This vehicle, personally driven by Elvis, is not just a car, but a symbol of the legendary lifestyle of the 'King of Rock and Roll'. The Cadillac, which Fisher fitted with a powerful 5,7-liter V8 engine, is the last vehicle Elvis is said to have purchased before his untimely death in 1977.
Elvis himself chose the distinctive color scheme of the vehicle and equipped it with a CB radio to communicate with the guardhouse and kitchen at Graceland. The vehicle is verified with Graceland Authenticated LLC and the original vehicle registration bears Elvis' name. The photos show him behind the wheel of this Cadillac, emphasizing the iconic importance of this vehicle.
After Elvis' death, the Cadillac passed from his father Vernon Presley to Elvis' fiancee Ginger Alden. The vehicle later became part of the collection of Jimmy Velvet, founder of the Elvis Presley Museum, before being sold at a Las Vegas auction in 1994 to collector Greg Page for US$101.500. The current owners purchased the Cadillac at the Graceland auction in 2014 and generously donated it to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu for public display.
This particular vehicle is now up for auction for the first time in ten years. The auction will take place on the Bonhams Cars Online website from 4 to 25 November. The Cadillac is expected to significantly exceed the previous selling price. The auction offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of musical and cultural history as unique and memorable as Elvis himself.
