The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is a large electric tourer without a roof antenna

It is the first Hyundai to ditch the traditional roof antenna, with GPS, satellite radio and FM/AM antennas integrated into the windshield, tailgate glass and dashboard. This not only improves aerodynamics, but also complements the SUV's minimalist aesthetic.

Another Hyundai innovation is the use of aluminum fenders, both front and rear, which contributes to weight reduction. However, even with these lightweight materials, the Ioniq 9 still weighs between 2.336kg and 2.699kg, depending on configuration.

Despite its size, the Ioniq 9 has an integrated active spoiler for better airflow, a first for a Hyundai production vehicle. A dual-motion Active Air Flap (AAF) system is also incorporated, which further improves aerodynamic performance.

Although at first glance the Ioniq 9 doesn't appear to have a rear wiper, it's cleverly hidden under the upper edge of the tailgate, similar to Range Rovers and Hyundai's Tucson and Santa Fe models. This design choice maintains a clean look while providing functionality.

The Ioniq 9's impressive aerodynamics, innovative antenna integration and lightweight materials demonstrate Hyundai's commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle design and engineering. Its sleek and modern design combined with advanced features make it a strong contender in the growing electric SUV market.
