Manhart MHXM 900: Sharp men's boutique from Wuppertal

The tuner pours 900 hp and 1.200 Nm into this M-colossus from BMW

This is one of the most powerful, interesting and powerful models in the BMW range: the XM. The top-of-the-line 'Label Red' version is equipped with 748 hp and 1.000 Nm of torque. This power is due to the plug-in hybrid drive, which combines a 4,4-liter biturbo V8 (S68) with 585 hp and an electric motor with 197 hp.

Still, according to Manhart Performance, identifying and exploiting the untapped performance potential was 'easy'. The experts from Wuppertal also carried out some important visual improvements to make the SUV even stronger and more recognizable. The result: the BMW XM became the MHXM 900.

The number 900 again of course stands for drive power: the MHXM 900 delivers 900 hp and 1.200 Nm. This was achieved with the proprietary MHtronik auxiliary control unit. An Akrapovic slip-on exhaust system was also installed. This is available with or without a wireless kit, the latter version not being TÜV homologated and therefore intended for export only. The same goes for non-catalytic racing exhausts and replacement OPF-Delete pipes with HJS 300-cell catalytic converters. As an alternative to the Akrapovič system, a stainless steel exhaust system with flap regulation is also available. Custom upgrades to the XM brake system are also available upon request.

On the chassis side, the MHXM 900 is characterized by a lower ground clearance. This was achieved with the help of lower springs from H&R. Among other things, the lowering ensures that the new wheels are perfectly positioned under the fenders: Here Manhart opted for the popular long-standing choice in the form of the concave model Concave One. The wheels, which feature six double spokes, are painted in gloss black and are available in XXL dimensions of 10×24 inches on the front axle and even 12×24 inches on the rear axle.

Individually adjustable colors are also possible. The tires fitted measure 295/30ZR24 and 355/25ZR24. The extravagant and extroverted look of the XM Label Red, which is already in the production stage, is further sharpened by Manhart with a carbon fiber body kit. The front end received a spoiler, air ducts and apron accessories, as well as a radiator grille frame and a new engine cover. The side view is refined with sills.

An even more impressive finish is provided by two spoilers – one on the edge of the roof and the other under the rear window – as well as a diffuser, an addition on the trunk lid between the rear lights and side moldings in the rim area. For a matching, spectacular look, the MHXM 900 has been completely wrapped in matte gray. Manhart also fitted the MHXM 900 with a carbon fiber interior that matches the body kit. The interior is completed with door trims, dashboard and center console and steering wheel.
