Motorhome manufacturer Sunlight from Allgäu presents its renewed VAN series for the 2024 season. The compact semi-integrated models impress with their small exterior dimensions, thoughtful space concept and attractive entry price.
The Sunlight Van series offers three different layouts with different sleeping options. The V60 is 5,95 meters long and has a transverse bed for two people. The V66 model is 6,65 meters long and has two single beds. The longest model is the V69 with a length of 6,86 meters and a 1,40 meter wide double bed. All models are 2,14 meters wide, making them an interesting alternative to converted panel vans. Due to the wheelbase of 3,80 meters, the vehicles are very agile.
The basic version of the van series is based on the Citroën chassis. The V60 is already available for 52.999 euros. The V66 and V69 models are available from 55.999 euros. Both models are also available in Adventure Edition. This one is based on the Fiat Ducato chassis and offers more design options and an expanded range of equipment for just under 3.000 euros extra. For example, this includes the Adventure foil, a window in the front bonnet, a second external stowage flap, a Thule sun visor, a triple bike rack, a lounge door with a fly screen and much more.
The design of Sunlight vans is simple and functional. The interior is characterized by the "Sandbar" lounge, which is designed in a minimalist wooden decor, with no superfluous coverings or decorations. The understated design creates a cozy living atmosphere that invites comfort, especially in the colder months, and promises relaxing evenings in the van. The interior is designed to make optimal use of the available space. This means plenty of storage space and a compact yet comfortable solution for living and sleeping on longer trips.
Despite the compact external dimensions, the vans offer a large sense of space and plenty of storage space. The vehicles have a large rear garage where you can store camping furniture, sports equipment and other equipment for multi-day trips. In all layouts, the bathroom is equipped with a folding wash wall. This allows the space to be flexibly used as a bathtub or shower cabin. The kitchen now has a three-burner hob with electric ignition. The exterior was also adjusted. The tail light bracket now looks more modern. The exterior trim has been slimmed down, and the red trim and Sunlight lettering on the sidewalls have been removed.
The Sunlight V series is closely related to the Carado V series vans and Etrusco V series models. All three brands belong to the Erwin Hymer Group and share common platforms and technologies. In addition to the basic version, Sunlight also offers special models. For example, the 'XX Edition' has better equipment and a special design package. Another model with a similar design that impressed us in the test is the Sunlight T 670 S. The semi-integrated model in Adventure Edition was with us on our first trip to Norway last year.
The Sunlight van series offers a practical, bare-bones vehicle concept that appeals to first-time campers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Due to their compactness and agility, vans are also suitable for driving on narrow roads and remote natural areas that are difficult to access with larger motorhomes.
The combination of robust basic equipment, minimalist design and flexible interior concept enables a wide range of applications for active travelers. The Sunlight V range of vans combine functionality and simplicity to create an attractive all-round package suitable for both short and long journeys.
