The presidential limousine from 1996, which was used to transport the then president Bill Clinton around, has been auctioned.
A 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, one of three armored limousines built for President Bill Clinton, will be one of the items at the Mecum Kissimmee auction on January 18, 2025 in Florida.
Specially modified for the president, this Cadillac has a 76 mm thicker roof and 76 mm thick bulletproof doors, an integrated oxygen supply and fire extinguishing system, run-flat tires and many other safety features. Under the hood hides a Chevrolet "big-block" V8 engine, which in all probability produces 335 kW (450 hp). This sedan has only 1.008 kilometers on the odometer.
Of the three limousines built for President Clinton, this is the only one available to the public. One is located in the Clinton Museum, and the other is still under the control of the American intelligence agency CIA. The estimated cost to build all three sedans at the time was a whopping $6 million.
Although the estimated auction price has not yet been revealed, we can assume that this piece of history will command a hefty sum. If you're a history buff or simply looking for a unique and very safe vehicle, head to Kissimmee, Florida on January 18th to place your bid.
