The Dodge Durango, currently in its third generation, is truly popular. The SUV with three rows of seats has been on the market since 2010 and is based on the technology of the Jeep Grand Cherokee model. During its more than 14 years of production, the Durango was only available with four engines. Since 2017, they have also included an SRT version with a magnificent 6,4-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine.
You guessed it, the era of the V8 is about to come to an end, so Dodge now has another special model to offer. A loud goodbye, so to speak. The latest tribute to the HEMI 392 engine is called the Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI and, according to the manufacturer, it offers the highest level of luxury and technology. The model was designed for enthusiasts and collectors.
That's probably a bit of an overstatement for the Durango, but the AlcHEMI looks pretty attractive nonetheless. Under the hood, of course, is the iconic 6,4-liter eight-cylinder engine with 355 kW (482 hp) and 637 Nm of torque, which even with 2,4 tons accelerates like a hatchet. From 0 to 100 km/h it takes only 4,4 seconds, and the maximum speed is 250 km/h. Shifting takes place via an 8-speed automatic transmission, and the power is distributed by the all-wheel drive system.
On the outside, the AlcHEMI can be identified by Brembo brakes with bright yellow brake calipers, racing stripes with honeycomb texture and yellow accents, 10x20-inch forged wheels, black tailpipe finishes, Midnight Metallic radiator grille and type badge, and black and yellow badges 392 on fenders.
The Dodge Durango SRT 392 AlcHEMI is limited to 1.000 units and is available in four colors: Diamond Black, Destroyer Gray, Vapor Gray and White Knuckle. Currently, there is no information about the start of sales or prices.
