The fourth generation Mazda 6 will be available exclusively with an electric drive.
Mazda has introduced the fourth generation of the Model 6, which will be available exclusively with an electric drive on the European market. The Mazda 6e, as the new model is called, is not the Japanese manufacturer's first electric car, but unlike the MX-30, it promises a longer range and faster charging.
The Mazda 6e is basically the same as the Chinese EZ-6 that was launched last year. The European version only has some minor changes to the lights and seats. Two battery versions will be available: a larger one with a capacity of 80 kWh and a range of 550 km, and a smaller one with a capacity of 69 kWh and a range of 479 km. The larger battery is charged with a power of 90 kW, and the smaller one with a power of 200 kW.

Both versions have one electric motor on the rear axle. The engine in combination with the smaller battery has an output of 190 kW (258 hp), while the engine in combination with the larger battery has an output of 180 kW (245 hp). Mazda 6e is not a classic sedan, but a hatchback with five doors. There will be no wagon version. The trunk has a volume of 70 liters and there is additional storage space under the front cover.

The interior of the Mazda 6e is classically designed, with a large central screen and a smaller screen in front of the driver. Depending on the equipment, leather and wood will also be available. The length of the car is 4,96 meters, which provides enough space for passengers in the rear seats.
The Mazda 6e will hit the market in the summer of 2025, but initially only in a limited number of versions. There will be no four-wheel drive and no plug-in hybrid. The price should start at 45.000 euros.
