The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, which will be produced in only 250 examples, is a speedster based on the Mercedes SL, but it has been significantly modified by AMG. Instead of the usual windshield and A-pillar, it has a Formula 1-inspired halo made of high-strength steel. The car's aerodynamics have been improved with a redesigned front fascia, a custom hood, modified diffuser and trunk lid, and unique 21-inch wheels with carbon fiber covers.
Despite the extensive exterior changes, the PureSpeed retains the twin-turbo 4,0-liter V8 from the SL 63, delivering 430 kW (585 hp) of peak power and 800 Nm of torque, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h 3,6, 315 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of XNUMX km/h.

The engine is connected to a nine-speed gearbox and Mercedes' 4MATIC four-wheel drive system. In addition, it has the Active Ride Control system for suspension optimization, carbon-ceramic brakes and active rear axle steering.

Inside, the PureSpeed boasts AMG Performance seats with distinctive leather upholstery and decorative stitching. Leather door trims, as well as a two-tone leather steering wheel and a custom-designed and manufactured IWC Schaffhausen analog clock on the dashboard further emphasize the prestige of the interior.
Although the official price has not yet been revealed, it is of course reasonable to expect the PureSpeed to be considerably more expensive than the standard SL 63 model.
