BMW tuner veteran G-Power has already shown its hunger for performance at the start of the new year. According to the latest press release, a three-stage power program will be available for the compact sports coupe's six-cylinder engine "from the start of the year".
In Stage 1, the 3,0-liter biturbo engine is boosted to 600 hp and 720 Nm of torque using its own performance software. The BMW S58 engine in the M2 with the engine running delivers 460 hp and 550 Nm. After the overhaul last summer, the output has increased to 480 hp. G-Power boasts here of “clean, pleasant torque development and optimized responsiveness.”
Those who want an even wilder ride can opt for the Performance Package with 650 hp and 780 nm. In return, the performance software is further optimized and a new exhaust system with flap control and the “characteristic, muffled G-Power sound.” The exhaust pipes can be wrapped in various types of carbon fiber if desired.

At the bottom of the food chain (probably several food chains) is the 700 hp and 840 Nm version. Here the software is even more refined. New sports exhaust pipes are also added to the transformation. Regardless of the level, each performance upgrade requires an ECU unlock, which unlocks the factory settings protection.
Additional engine tuning updates include the removal of the factory Vmax limit, adaptation of the transmission software to the new torque curves, including shortened shift times, deactivation of the boost “for an even more aggressive sound” and sports air filters. In addition, pressure and/or intake manifolds made of orange-tinted aluminum and a carbon engine cover are available as options.
This is not the only piece of carbon fiber that the Bavarian tuner has screwed onto the M2. New aerodynamic and design parts are also made of composite fibers. The vehicles in the picture have completely new front wings with air vents in the style of the 911 GT3 RS. There are also front flaps, a rear wing and a carbon engine cover, which we already know from the bigger brothers M4, M5 and M8. With a sophisticated airflow, it is designed to improve heat dissipation from the engine compartment and thus reduce the thermal load on the drive components.

To fill the now wider cheekbones, G-Power relies on its own forged wheels measuring 9×20 inches at the front and 10,5×21 inches at the rear with Michelin tires measuring 285/30R20 and 295/25R21. G-Power offers carbon-fiber sports steering wheels, LED displays, carbon-fiber gearshift paddles or even full leather interiors for those who want to adapt the interior of their M2 to the extra power.
