Despite its advanced years, the XC60 is still one of the brand's best-selling models, and to consolidate this status, Volvo is adding new technical solutions to the interior with mild changes to the exterior.
Just under seven years on the market is enough time for most manufacturers to launch a completely new model, but Volvo clearly thinks otherwise. Although the second-generation Volvo XC60 has been on the market since 2018, it will receive its second facelift in its life cycle for the 2026 model year.

The updates compared to the current model are quite minimal, but still noticeable. Most of the features were borrowed from its bigger brother, the XC90, the most noticeable of which is the new grille with diagonal grilles. At the back, Volvo has used the oldest trick in the book and darkened the taillights. A move that seems to have been seen countless times by all manufacturers, but it clearly works. There will also be three new colors: Forest Lake, Aurora Silver and Mulberry Red from the new EX90.
The changes are a bit more pronounced inside, where we immediately notice a new screen, now measuring 11,2 inches diagonally and protruding over the dashboard. Volvo claims that the latest generation of the infotainment system hardware will be twice as fast as the previous one, thanks to a new Qualcomm processor unit. The software will now be able to be updated “over the air”, i.e. without a visit to an authorized service center. Those with eagle eyes will also notice new speaker grilles.

Volvo doesn't mention any powertrain changes, so it's safe to assume there won't be any. In this case, the base model will be powered by a 184-liter inline-four with mild hybrid technology that produces 250 kW (19 hp), while the more powerful plug-in hybrid with a similar 350-liter inline-four and a XNUMX kWh battery will produce XNUMX hp of system power. Volvo also hasn't announced a starting price yet.
