Japanese company Mitsuoka has introduced the M55 1st Edition, a modified Honda Civic modeled after the Dodge Challenger, which will be available to Japanese customers in just 250 units.
The new series follows the sold-out M55 Zero Edition, which offers both petrol and hybrid powertrains. The M55 features a distinctive design that combines the aesthetics of an American muscle car with the compact form of a compact Japanese hatchback.

The Mitsuoka M55 1st Edition expands on the original design with ten new colour options and an upgraded interior. The cabin retains the Honda Civic base, but adds leather upholstery and optional carbon-look trim. Powertrain options include a 1,5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 134 kW (180 hp) and a Honda e:HEV hybrid powertrain.

The M55 1st Edition starts at (converted) EUR 46.600 for the petrol model and EUR 50.800 for the hybrid model. The best-equipped hybrid model costs EUR 53.700. Optional extras such as premium paint and leather seats are of course added to the base price.
Deliveries of the M55 Zero Edition will begin this May, while deliveries of the M55 1st Edition will begin next year. Pre-orders for the M55 1st Edition will close once all 250 units have been sold.
