Lancia brings back the Delta HF Integrale

Stellantis is making a comeback with the Lancia brand. After years of neglect, Lancia recently introduced the new Ypsilon model, and will soon revive the Gamma and Delta names. The Delta Integrale, one of Lancia's most famous cars due to its outstanding rally success, is set to make a comeback.

Autocar brought to our attention a statement from Lancia on Tuesday, in which it confirmed that the ‘HF Integrale’ name would return for the high-performance Gamma and Delta variants. ‘HF’, for those who don’t know, stands for High Fidelity and was the designation Lancia used for some of its most powerful cars, such as the Stratos, Delta 4×4 and Delta Integrale. Lancia, with its distinctive elephant emblem, introduced the Ypsilon HF and the HF line last year.

Lancia has also returned to rallying with the Ypsilon Rally4 and the Ypsilon HF Racing, homologated for Rally6. In a statement announcing the Ypsilon HF Racing and outlining the future of the sub-brand, Lancia wrote: “HF will become a feature of all the high-performance versions in the new Lancia line: today on the Ypsilon and soon in 2026 on the upcoming Gamma and Delta with the ‘HF Integrale’ badge.”

The HF Integrale name first appeared on Delta in 1988 for an improved version of the Delta HF 4×4, which was then competing in Group A rallying. The Integrale was a homologation model for Delta rallying, with four-wheel drive and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that made the small compact car extremely powerful. It was discontinued in 1993 with the limited edition Evo II. Its reputation has only grown since then.

Coach reports that the next Delta may be related to the Opel Mokka. The new Delta will likely be based on Stellantis' CMP platform, which can use both internal combustion engines and all-electric powertrains. Lancia has not revealed what will power the next Delta.

But we do know that the hottest cars on the CMP platform, such as the Ypsilon HF, Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, and the recently announced Peugeot E-208 GTI, use an electric motor with 280 hp and 333 Nm of torque. Coach It is assumed that this powertrain will also be used in the Delta HF Integrale.

Lancia never produced a high-performance version of the original Gamma, a sedan and coupe that was produced between 1976 and 1984. Coach states that the new Gamma will be a twin of the DS No.8 model, the new flagship of the French luxury brand of the Stellantis group.
