Isn't this two-door coupe amazing? As part of the CDE Classic Event, we were able to admire the X Gran Coupé live for the first time in Europe. More precisely: in the Loh Collection or the National Automobile Museum in Dietzhölztal-Ewersbach. What is this Genesis model all about?
Genesis unveiled two new concept vehicles at the Seoul Mobility Expo 2025, which took place from April 4 to 13. The theme of the presentation was “Unveiling a New Genesis Era.” Ten years after its market launch, the Korean premium brand has entered a new phase.
The flagship G90, they represent different design directions that point to the future positioning of the Genesis brand as a luxury brand with emotional appeal.
Genesis X Gran Coupe and X Gran Convertible concepts

The X Gran Coupé combines an independent body shape with the blend of elegance and sportiness that is characteristic of the Genesis brand. The X Gran Cabriolet interprets the freedom of open-top driving as a direct connection to the surroundings. “Both vehicles express our understanding of luxury and offer a special driving experience,” said Ilhun Yoon, head of the Genesis Design Center in Seoul.
The front of the vehicles features the Genesis brand’s signature two-line headlamp design, which continues into the Crest grille with the brand logo. The three-dimensional grille pattern resembles woven metal wires. Wide air intakes and an extended engine hood emphasize the sporty character, while lights that extend into the side fenders enhance the striking appearance.
The steeply raked windscreen and flat roofline create a stretched silhouette. Frameless windows with continuous side glazing without a B-pillar emphasize this impression, while a spoiler in the lower part of the body completes the aerodynamic line. The coupe has a continuous roofline reminiscent of a sports car, while the convertible's beltline is set further back, separating the body from the soft top.
Genesis X Gran Coupe

The wheels differ considerably: the Cabriolet has five-star wheels with a sculpted cross-section and double-line spokes, while the Coupé has five-double-spoke wheels with additional spokes on a second level. The wide track and low-profile tires enhance the powerful look.
At the rear, two-line taillights occupy the space above the bumper. A chrome strip surrounds the exhaust pipes, while horizontal accents add texture to the surface. A spoiler on the tailgate emphasizes the dynamic image. Genesis has incorporated the brand logo into the rear design, while a retractable reversing camera and touchless trunk opening emphasize the technological claim.
The interior of the X Gran Coupé is inspired by the olive tree. Micro-perforated olive wood with luminous graphics, olive green mood lighting and floor mats with olive leaf motifs set the tone. The leather is tanned with water from olive oil production and is completely chrome-free. The concept is completed by a quilted leather roof and a modified roof console. The X Gran Cabriolet is inspired by the color of viticulture. The paintwork is reminiscent of pressed grapes, and the interior is colored with Cabernet Sauvignon from the Livorno region. In case you didn't know.

Both vehicles feature crystal accents on the steering wheel, center console and air vents. These reflect light and emphasize the depth of the interior. Soft-touch materials on the seats and floor coverings create a monochromatic effect that emphasizes the blue tones. The steering wheel has a third aluminum spoke with an interior pattern. The front seats with integrated seat belts have built-in screens and ventilation slots for rear seat passengers.
Will the cars go into series production? “Since the launch of our brand, we have conveyed our values to more than 1,3 million customers around the world,” explained Mike Song, global head of the Genesis brand, in Seoul. “As we enter the next decade, we wanted to introduce new models and demonstrate our commitment to high-performance technologies and modern luxury design.” So let’s wait….
