French company Cixi is developing Vigoz, a hybrid tricycle that combines pedaling with an electric motor for a new type of urban mobility.
With a top speed of 120 km/h, the Vigoz is classified as an L5 vehicle, meaning it is legal to use on public roads, including motorways. The fully enclosed cabin provides protection from the elements, setting it apart from traditional bicycles.

The heart of the Vigoz is its PERS (Pedaling Energy Recovery System), a chainless system where pedaling generates electricity to power the motor and charge the battery. The 22 kWh battery provides a range of up to 160 kilometers, which is further extended by regenerative braking and human power. Charging from a standard household outlet takes approximately 6 hours. The vehicle has a seat for the driver and one passenger and features active tilt for better handling.

Cixi plans to offer the Vigoz exclusively through a subscription model, with pricing to be announced before the subscription system launches. The company aims to produce a vehicle with a 15-year lifespan through a durable chassis, interchangeable body parts and over-the-air updates. A functional prototype is currently under development, with production set to begin in France.
