The 2026 Ford Mustang EcoBoost will get a new, sporty upgrade in the form of the RTR Performance package, aimed primarily at drivers who are satisfied with the power of their car but want to attack corners with a little more sharpness.
The new package is designed primarily for improved drifting performance (as befits a Mustang), and includes a number of components borrowed from the higher-performance versions. These include Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston at the rear, a reinforced suspension from the Mustang Dark Horse, from which it also borrows front and rear anti-roll bars. Driving dynamics are further enhanced with an optimized steering mechanism with longer travel, a modified ESC system and optional MagneRide dampers, which provide better handling in challenging conditions.
The powertrain remains unchanged – the Mustang EcoBoost is still powered by a 2,3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 315 horsepower and approximately 475 Nm of torque. However, the new RTR package includes an “anti-lag” system, based on technology from the Mustang GT race car, which improves the engine’s responsiveness during sudden changes in acceleration. A sports exhaust with active flaps and four tailpipes is also standard equipment, further emphasizing the car’s sporty character. All this combines to create a vehicle that maintains the economy of the base EcoBoost, while offering significantly more dynamics and fun on the road or even on the track.

In addition to the technical upgrades, the RTR package also provides significant visual enhancements that give the Mustang a more aggressive look. Notable additions include illuminated “nostrils,” an RTR grille, a GT front bumper, a GT Performance Pack rear spoiler, and more RTR badging throughout the body. Unique “Tarnished Dark Anodized” color options are also available, including mirror caps, a grille scoop, and other special graphics. The Hyper Lime exterior package adds bolder accents to the darker aesthetic, including bright green brake calipers and color-coordinated graphic details that further stand out from the crowd.
The interior also follows the sporty story – highlighted by contrasting stitching in Hyper Lime green, which can be found on the dashboard, center console, doors and handbrake lever for drifting. Although the basic interior equipment is available at no extra cost, the driver sees RTR graphics on the digital display every time he enters or starts the engine, which further confirms the exclusivity of the vehicle. The first examples will be delivered to the USA in the summer of next year, when or if they will arrive across the pond to us in Europe is not yet known.
