The five-meter electric SUV with a range of 700 kilometers will unfortunately not be available in Europe.
Volkswagen presents the ID Unyx 08, a large, five-meter electric SUV. The model was developed exclusively for the Chinese market and will not be available in Europe. The ID Unyx 08 is the third model in the Unyx line, a special Chinese model line of the joint venture Anhui Volkswagen. The series began in mid-2024 with the Volkswagen version of the Cupra Tavascan, followed by the ID Unyx 07 on a new Chinese platform.
The ID Unyx 08 is a production version of the ID Evo concept car, which was unveiled earlier this year. At 5,0 meters long, 1,95 meters wide and 1,68 meters high, the SUV is considerably larger than VW's European models; it is 42 centimeters longer than the ID.4 and even 12 centimeters longer than the Touareg. The wheelbase measures 3,03 meters and the vehicle weighs at least 2.191 kilograms.
The ID Unyx 08 will be available in at least two versions on the Chinese market. The base version already delivers 230 kW (313 hp) on the rear axle. The most powerful version adds a 140 kW (190 hp) powerful motor to the front axle, which also enables all-wheel drive. Both versions use CATL's LFP battery pack, the exact capacity of which is not yet known. The stated maximum range is 700 kilometers, although this figure is based on the less realistic Chinese CLTC cycle.
