The Michigan-based automotive giant has released photos of its new supercar, which will be unveiled early next year – is it the new Ford GT? It turns out that the matter is not that simple.
Ford has revealed that it will unveil an all-new “production road car” under its revamped Ford Racing division on January 15, 2026. Although it has not been officially confirmed, many speculate that it could be the third generation of the legendary Ford GT, which ended production in 2022. The new model is said to be an expression of the transfer of racing innovations to road vehicles, meaning we can expect high performance and advanced technology.
There are also rumors of other possibilities - most notably an even more extreme version of the Mustang GTD, which is said to be aiming for a record time at the Nürburgring, and a supposed 1.000-horsepower electrified SUV, which company CEO Jim Farley has previously hinted at. Ford has not officially revealed what kind of powertrain the new car will have, nor whether it will be a gasoline, hybrid or all-electric model.

If the new car proves to be the successor to the GT model, it will be the third modern reincarnation of the iconic model, which saw the light of day in its first generation in 2005 and in its second in 2017. Both share exceptional performance, racing character and limited production, which means that we can expect similar exclusivity from the new car.
In any case, the upcoming model will be an important milestone for Ford's sports car division and the wider automotive landscape, indicating a direction in which traditional cars with a racing touch will still play an important role - even in the era of electrification. Full details will be revealed in just over a month.
