Lamborghini's new hybrid gem weighs almost as much as a Hummer, despite its astronomically expensive diet.
The Lamborghini Temerario, the long-awaited successor to the Huracán, doesn't exactly bring good news on the scales. It may boast futuristic hybrid technology, but its weight is dangerously close to two tons. The officially declared dry weight is 1.690 kilograms, but real-world measurements with liquids have shown that a more realistic figure 1.905 kilogramsThis means that this "baby Lambo" is only 55 kilograms lighter than its bigger brother, the Revuelta, which hides a V12 under the hood.

To tame that much mass, Lamborghini offers the Alleggerita package, which costs around 42.900 euros, but it only reduces the weight by 25 kilograms – which is about the same as the average golden retriever. Despite the high cost of the accessories, the Temerario remains significantly heavier than its competitors. The Ferrari 296 GTB weighs only 1.648 kilograms with fluids, while the McLaren Artura is even lighter at 1.552 kilograms, which calls Lamborghini's engineering direction into question.
Despite its "fatness", the Temerario doesn't skimp on power. Its supercharged V8 with three electric motors produces impressive 677 kW (920 HP) and torque that surpasses all its predecessors. Although early tests show that the car hides its weight well when driving, this will inevitably lead to faster tire wear and lower efficiency compared to its lighter competitors from Maranello and Woking.
