The second generation of the French luxury SUV brings a new name, increased dimensions and a transition to the STLA-Medium platform with a rich selection of electric drives.
The second generation of the DS 7 is called DS N°7 under the new nomenclature and brings noticeably larger dimensions with the transition to the Stellantis STLA-Medium platform. The vehicle has grown in length by 7 centimeters to 4,66 meters, and the wheelbase has increased by 5 centimeters to 2,79 meters, while the width and height remain unchanged at 1,90 meters and 1,63 meters respectively. The exterior boasts sharp lines, an illuminated grille and improved aerodynamics, reflected in a low drag coefficient of 0,26. The interior offers prestigious materials, a 12,25-inch digital display in front of the driver and a 16-inch central display, and the boot capacity is up to 560 liters, which is reduced to 500 liters in the most powerful all-wheel drive version.

The engine range includes a 1,2-liter petrol mild hybrid that develops 107 kW (145 hp), and three purely electric versions with the option of a short-term power increase (“boost”). The basic electric model offers a 74 kWh battery, a front-mounted electric motor with 169 kW (230 hp) – short-term 191 kW (260 hp) – and a range of up to 540 kilometers. The long-range version has a 97 kWh battery and 180 kW (245 hp) of power (short-term 206 kW (280 hp)), which is enough for an enviable range of 740 kilometers. The top of the range is the all-wheel drive version with two electric motors and a system power of 257 kW (350 hp), which increases to 276 kW (375 hp) in boost mode; this enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,4 seconds with a range of 680 kilometers.
The electric versions support fast charging with a power of up to 160 kW, which allows the battery to be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 27 minutes, and an 11-kilowatt charger is installed as standard, with the option of upgrading to 22 kW. The typical French driving comfort is ensured by the Active Scan Suspension system, which uses a camera to analyze the road surface and adjusts the operation of individual shock absorbers in advance. Orders for the new DS N°7 will open in May, and the first vehicles will arrive in showrooms in October, with official prices in euros (EUR) remaining unknown for the time being.
